Pickles and Tickles

Elliot is chilling on the couch before dinner, too lazy to sit up all the way - which she does now. But not right now, because she is tired. She's a sitter!

Pickles! We just started Elliot on solid food. Baby cereal and pureed veggies, mostly. But tonight we had pickles with our take out. Elliot keeps reaching for our food, and admittedly it was a little mean, but she looked like she wanted my pickle. The same pickle that made me physically grimmace because it was so garlicky, pungeant, and dill. She made a face when it touched her lips. I felt bad. She started to whine when I took it away and then she could not get enough of it. Chasing it around her tray with her baby fingers and stuffing it in her mouth, all the while with me freaking out because she has no teeth and can't chew. Ben scraped the seeds away and Elliot may have a new favorite food, or teething ring.

Eating is messy business, tub time is fun time.

Playing around at Stella Bella on a cold day. This is as happy as Elliot looked in the ball pit...not too bad!

Elliot's first trip (and ours!) to the New England Aquarium. We thought she was too little to like it, but she was mesmerized. And kept talking to the penguins like she does to Sheffield. She must have thought they were his cousins!

Speaking of Sheffield, he and Elliot are hanging out in the kitchen while I make dinner. Think its time to child-proof our house yet?

And Sheffield, poor poor uncoordinated lovable kitty. Here he is with his little kitty-cast following his little kitty surgery. He came home limping and with a cut on his lip. The vet thinks he was either nicked by a car or fell out of/off of something. Anyone who has seen Sheff fall off the couch does not need to question which may have happened. But poor kitty's broke out his front tooth (the big fang!) and he spiral fractured the same paw finger as Ben's basketball injury. He is getting along very well with his cast. It actually looks like he is walking with a cane, which seems to suit his tuxedo!

Emmilot and Ellimy

Grandpa is the only one brave enough to hold both girls at once!

Elliot & Emily settle down into a slumber party in the Auntie's room while everyone else plays dice games and eats Ding Dongs.

Bucket to Bucket the girls meet for the first time. Elliot is 6 months and Emily is 7 weeks. Ellie is exactly twice Em's size!

Auntie Kassi holds Elliot and I have Emily.

Elliot takes some time out on Auntie Jessie's knee while Aunt Sindy knits in the background.

Emily and her mommy hang out before it is time to go.

Aunties Jessie & Kassi say goodbye to Elliot as we head to the airport.

Slumber Party!

Elliot and Emily are all smiles snuggling in bed at the hotel in Florida.

Elliot is extra giddy and victorious after successfully escaping her crib prison and keeping us up all night. Refusing to sleep under any circumstance, even with Ben driving her around in the middle of the night.

Our little night owl hogs the bed and hams for the camera after coming back from Grandma & Grandpa's room across the hall, where she was deposited by her groggy mom at 7 AM. Sleep? Who needs it?

Elliot spent about 2 hours total in the hotel crib prison. Her brief incarceration made way for energy in her all night awake vigil.

Meanwhile, across the hall, baby Emily snores away all night long in peace.

Current Stats: 2Feet 4inches Tall, 15.4 Lbs ... the apple does not fall far from Daddy

Pre-bed fun time, hanging in her crib.

Wait, who is the geek here?

Elliot's first time in a restaurant high chair! Of course it is at the Tampa Airport Friday's (anyone surprised?) Such a big girl!

Elliot's FuManChu goatee like Dad's as Laura feeds her breakfast prunes!

6 Months! Elliot is One Half this week!

We don't have her latest stats yet, but stay tuned next week. Here is how we spent her half birthday. Lounging at home in the morning.

We left the home lounge and suited up for winter for Elliot's First Snow and the only snow we have had all year...and it melted in an hour.

We drove out to the Sheraton on the Pike that looks like a Medieval Castle (no joke!) for the radio acclaimed "Starving Artist Sale!" "Sofa-sized paintings - nothing over $59.95" It was exactly what we pictured it would be. Only smaller and maybe not as cheesy as we wanted.

Talk about a cheapskate version of going to an art musuem. You know I am going to be the mom that makes us go visit "biggest ball of twine". Below Ben sees if he can give Elliot a concussion by walking into the not-so-medieval chandalier.

Finally safe back at home, and without any sofa sized paintings to show for it, Elliot is suited up for bed and we remembered we got a cupcake to eat in her honor. None for her yet, but we enjoyed it on her behalf. What a sweetie!

That's Chairy!

Here is how Elliot's 1st New Year's Eve went down. Hmmm, what a comfy red chair! I like Charlie's chair. I feel so sophisticated.

Charlie is not so sure about someone else in her chair, but since she can still use it too, maybe its not so bad.

Wait a minute! This chair is crowded.

Talk to the hand, I want to watch Dick Clark alone here.

Listen here little Miss Elliot, this is my chair and I have a great idea!

The girls agree to a plan and hug to seal the deal.

And Charlie goes up to her bed and Elliot snoozes in the new year on a sofa all to herself.
