We had a busy weekend while Daddy was gone. Here is Elliot playing in her room before Zoe's birthday party.
Next, Elliot is beside herself in wonderment that she is sitting at the top of the stairs (note new hint of stair gate) and Sheffield is beside her, while Greygor (aka Walter) paws at the window to get in. So many kitties!
Now for all of you that try to read into the background of the pictures, to see how we really live, no need to tell me that it is April and our Christmas tree stand is STILL on our patio, or that Elliot is holding onto (and was later found sucking) the strings of the mini-blinds...we weren't kidding about being behind the baby-proofing 8-ball. But hey, its a really nice gate?
Below is Elliot stuffing on her first basket ball hoop. Moments later godzilla attacked the whole thing and brought it down. Score!
Later it was on to Zoe's Circus birthday party.
Zoe hits the trampoline while Aunt Wendy moves Elliot from the fray.
In spite of the sun induced scowl, Elliot was loving the outdoors and being entertained by the older kiddos.
Next, Elliot gets her first taste of a future fear of clowns and she scrambles into my lap.
Clown-turned-belly-dancer is much less scary, with lots of shiny sparkles to see, and a dazzling talent for balancing all types of objects. Who doesn't have a chandelier in her pocketbook?
Now, Elliot wants in on the action and strikes a convincing Downward Dog en route to the kids.
Wait, is that Ammi behind the clowny nose? Clowns aren't so scary!
And finally, Elliot embraces her inner clown and inner entertainer to a captive audience. My favorite clown of them all - and quite a good little balancer!

Current Stats 9 Mos: 2'6" Tall, 17lbs 9oz
Time to fatten up this little girl ! Less than 3 mos until her 1st birthday, but we're not supposed to turn her car seat to face forward unless she also weighs 20 lbs by then. 2.5 Mos to gain 2.5 lbs - good thing she is a trooper and a good eater!
Playing in the Tupperware drawer - a preferred alternative to eating the cat food.
Which one is the 15 month old and which one is the 9 month old?? Elliot & Lily play Legos at Auntie Wendy's house.
Elliot is not so sure about the iguana kisses!

Exploratorium!
Easter Eggstravaganza of Color!
Now that Elliot is on the move, she has so much to explore! She really wants to pull herself up by herself and keeps testing her limits. She is covering every corner of the house - like a little baby-proofing inspector. Thus far we receive a failing grade and she confirms that she does not like the taste of Sheffield's cat food (again & again as if the taste might have changed since yesterday!)
Oooh! The piano is unattended. Perfect! When she is really determined, she sticks her tongue out to concentrate better.
What's this? The Julia Child cookbook?! I'm gonna read it - or eat it.
Is she in the Jr. Little Miss Sunshine try-outs? Goofy outfit aside, Sheffield is the target of all her concentrated affection everytime he enters the room.
Oooh Headshots! I recognize these people!
She was surprised to find me under the table when she crawled up.
Books are more fun now that she can crawl up to the library to choose her own!

Easter Ends in ER
Our fluffy little chick had a great time on Easter. She loved church (we might have to start going regularly!) She loved her lacy dress and baby chicky fur coat. She loved brunch. She did not like it when she fell down the stairs with Daddy and flew out of his arms landing on her melon like a slippery watermelon. See her lying on a bag of frozen peas pillow while we wait in the ER, and then when she is in her johnny, she came round and was having a great time in the hospital. One quick CAT scan later and we were on our way home (routine check for babies under 1 year, who fall more than 3 feet...good to know!). By the way she is fine - in fact even more smiley than before! Thanks Edith for letting us "crash" your party, and Mary for being a nurse in the right place at the right time (well, right for us anyway)!

Creepy Crawly!
Saturday night Elliot became a crawler! And by the time I came home on Sunday she was a pro. And by Monday morning, while I was readying for work, we were already behind the baby proofing eightball. She found the nightlight in our room, and was sucking on the bulb...I thought of grabbing the camera first, but practicality set in, and I took it away from her. Now if we can only figure out how to post a video, we'll show her scooting around on all fours!
Elliot, ecastatic.
Elliot and cousin Andrew playing
We visited the Fogg Art museum in Cambridge...are those girl-pants?
Trip to Pizzaria Regina with Andrew
Elliot digs her pizza crust!
First day of school! Laura was sick, so we took Elliot to back-up day care...she was a natural in her little blue play pool.
And finally, she'll be too big for the jumparoo thingy soon, so instead of buying one, we let her play in it every time we go to Babies R Us...which is too often - She's been there more than the Aquarium!
